THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OFFICE OF THE CHAIRMAN
18 December, 2013
Dear friend,
As you know, over the last few days Israel has experienced one of the worst storms in its history.
During the storm, the KKL-JNF joined in the help given to the local authorities in the north and center of Israel, who asked for urgent assistance in opening roads and removing snow from traffic routes, as well as rescuing residents who were stranded on the roads.
The activity of the KKL-JNF that took place over many hours, day and night, facilitated the vital movement of emergency and police vehicles and helped the authorities to function during the emergency.
KKL-JNF workers did a great job and, with the full mobilization of heavy equipment, tractors and fire trucks donated by KKL-JNF offices worldwide, opened blocked roads from the north to the center, in Safed, Meron, in the Jerusalem area, Tsur Hadassah and other areas.
The workers helped to rescue stranded civilians, assisted ambulances in reaching and treating people needing medical assistance in neighborhoods that were snowed under, and did their work superbly over several days, under the most adverse of weather conditions.
Attached for your information is a video summarizing activities throughout the days of the storm:
Once again it has been proven that in time of need and in general, the KKL-JNF stands firm with the State of Israel and its citizens, as we will always do.
Dear Friends,
I thank you most sincerely for the constant support, hard work and partnership in our Zionist path. When we work together, there is no challenge we cannot overcome.
I wish you continued success and fruitful activity in your important role.
Warm Regards,
Efi Stenzler
KKL/JNF World Chairman
